Another Chunk of DeAnza Drive-In off Market
Harrison Properties, LLC purchased 6.2 acres of vacant land near the southeast corner of East 22nd Street and South Alvernon Way from Evergreen Development Company for $1,382,842. The site is part of the former 19-acre De Anza Drive-in movie theater, which showed its last film in 2009.
The 6.2 acres will be developed with approximately 100,000 square feet of professional office space.

Evergreen bought the De Anza property, which was Tucson’s last operating drive-in movie theater, from De Anza Land and Leisure Corporation in 2009. The theater opened in 1951 under the name Cactus Theater.
There are eight acres remaining to be sold and developed, including frontage pads on both 22nd Street and Alvernon.
Tomlinson and Furrier previously sold other portions of the De Anza land to Progressive Insurance and QuikTrip. Picor announced the sale last month of the 3.2-acre Progressive piece, which went for $1.04 million. The QuikTrip piece, at a little more than an acre, sold in 2012 for about $1.2 million. The gas station and convenience store opened a few months later.

University City Church purchased the historic church building at 604 N. Sixth Ave. from Crosslife Ministries for $1,900,000. The 34,163 square-foot church was built in 1925. Debbie Heslop, CCIM, of Volk Company Commercial Real Estate represented the landlord, Rancho Center, LLC. Ben Craney of West Commercial Real Estate Advisors represented the tenant.
Quality Restoration purchased 7,016 square feet of land at 2910 N. El Burrito Ave. from Vernon, Barbara, Ralph and Rebecca Armstrong. Peter H. Tim Healy and Robert DeLaney with CBRE represented the buyer.
